Purpose of the Role

The Site Agent will be responsible for the management of the construction site to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. They will deliver multiple on-going projects, to the specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The incumbent will work closely with the Estimating Department, engineers and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects.
  • Ensure that all works are well planned and construction materials procured and delivered on time.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with all sub-contractors to ensure that construction works are carried out in strict adherence to project specifications, time and budget expectations.
  • Develop method statements for structural works
  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised.
  • Deliver the work safely and without environmental incidents.
  • Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects.
  • Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, and ITP’s and waste management plans, in line with Company procedures
  •  Produce and manage the project programme and produce progress forecasts.
  • Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks.
  • Represent the company to customers, public and all stakeholders
  • Deliver excellent services to customer satisfaction
  • Produce good quality, accurate monthly reports for the Client and management
  • Attend weekly site meetings in line with Company procedures
  • Read and interpret structural engineering drawings
  • Inspect reinforced concrete and structural steel works.
  • Supervise subcontractors on fixing reinforcements and structural steel.
  • Carry out site supervision of structural works ensuring compliance with designs, specifications, and standards
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of construction of water retaining structures.

Qualifications & Experience / Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma/BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with recognised professional bodies
  • 5 years or more relevant experience in construction of concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience and exposure to Water Treatment Plants, pump stations, water retaining structures and pipeline structures will serve as an advantage
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering
  • Valid Driver’s license is essential
  • Salary: To be negotiated
