Quality Control Officer
Purpose of the Role
The position is responsible for maintaining of quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results.
Job Duties
- Project activities inspections
- Quality Control Plan development/amendments and reviews
- Responsible for calibration of quality related testing equipment
- Training of inspectors always ensuring appropriately skilled including cross training
- Generation and maintenance of QC Inspector skills matrix
- Regular monitoring of QC Inspectors in all aspects of the organization as a whole
- Undertake regular documented reviews with the QC Inspectors
- Assisting in inspection duties and/or any other tasks as requested by senior management
- Interpret and review construction drawings
- Quality Control Plan development/amendments and reviews
- Develop quality test programs and ensure/monitor compliance to the program
- Conduct quality inspections with client QC representation
- Provide technical solutions to quality issues
- Control all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial action
- Participate in the site internal and external site audits
- Coordinate all receipt inspections
- Coordinate with quality inspections with all the site sub-contractors and coordinate non-destructive testing on site
- Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
- Assist in developing Quality related method statements
- Inspect completed work and/or work in progress to determine whether the work meets specifications and plan requirements
- Monitor project construction performance with regards to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements
- Note and report on work that does not meet requirements
- Attending internal and external project quality kick-off meetings with relevant parties.
- Thorough reviewing of suppliers quality documentation.
- Liaison with client representatives and third-party inspectors as required by the Quality Control plans (QCPs) and ensure the presence of client representatives at release inspections or as required by the client.
- Providing regular feedback about the suppliers quality system conformance condition and calibration of suppliers measuring equipment and machinery.
- In-process and final inspection of components for conformance to applicable engineering specifications, issued drawings and agreed project quality plan (PQP) with all related QA/QC documentation.
- Progressive reviewing of data book compilation and final data book review prior to release
- Quality control planning marked up drawings/approved quality control plans/inspection procedures
- Monitor supplier surveillance audit form and non-conformance reports (where applicable)
- Monitor Inspection drawing and inspection reports (details).
- Signed off QCP, inspection report on status, delivery of data book
- Attending continuous development training seminars (internal & external)
- Create and update measurement strategy, ensure checking fixtures are maintained and updated
Responsibilities / Duties
Qualifications & Experience / Minimum Requirements
- National Higher Dip., B. Tech, B/ in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
- ISO9001 Implementation/Auditing certification
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in civil inspection which must be in infrastructure projects (pipelines, reservoirs, WTP)
- Supervisory Certificate and experience in the ISO certified company
- Quality Control Course / Internal Auditing Course
- ISO 9001 Implementation/ Awareness / Auditing Course
- Environmental and Safety basic knowledge
