JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for designing buildings and planning as directed by the Professional Architect. The incumbent will work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that designs are accurate and meet all necessary building codes and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create detailed technical drawings for architectural plans and layouts.
• Council documentation preparation
• Interior details and architectural drawings
• Finishing schedules
• Compile reports and ensure that the plans are following the local rules and regulations.
• Compile needed blueprints, specifications, and contractions reports
• Study environmental impacts of the of the construction process and work towards mitigation of any environmental risks.
• Assist in creating a schedule and budget for the construction.
• Work closely with the Professional Architect and other employees to ensure that the project is implemented on time and according to the specified designs.
• Do any ad-hoc office duties as assigned by the Snr Engineer.
• Incumbent may also be required to assist in the same role to projects involving roads and storm water disciplines

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in architectural technology or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in Revit and Twin motion or other rendering software.
• Legal knowledge of Employee Equity Act, Labour and Employment laws, OHS Act, Design compliance standards.
• Drivers Licence is Essential.
• Quality Management is ISO compliance.
• Regular inter-provincial and international site visits and meetings.
• Salary is negotiable.

• Oral and written comprehension and expression.
• Applicant must be able to maintain organized records of all documentation, drawings, and revisions.

• Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
• The Ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience in:
• Revit
• Excel, Word, Outlook
• PowerPoint
• 3D Rendering will be advantageous
